Located in Wadesville, IN – Just 25 minutes from downtown Evansville, IN.

St. Wendel Knights Home is a versatile event destination where community and celebration meet. Whether you’re planning a grand wedding reception, a corporate retreat, or a casual family reunion, our doors are open to everyone—you do not need to be a member to host your event with us. Managed by the Knights of St. John Commandery #282, our facility offers the perfect backdrop for your next milestone in a space that feels like home.

The Venue

Our facility is designed to scale with your needs, offering over 11,000 square feet of functional event space across three distinct areas. From polished indoor settings to our open-air pavilion, we provide the room you need to breathe, move, and celebrate.

The Basement (3,000 sf)

An ideal setting for mid-sized gatherings, parties, or meetings, offering a more intimate, cozy environment.

The Main Level (5,800 sf)

Our flagship space, perfect for large-scale weddings and banquets. This expansive floor offers a classic atmosphere with plenty of room for dining and dancing.

The Pavilion (3,000 sf)

Our outdoor-accessible space, perfect for seasonal events, casual cookouts, or as an airy addition to your indoor rental.

The Whole Facility

Full access to the Main Level, Basement, and Pavilion. Best for large weddings or multi-stage events.

The Basement Only

A budget-friendly, private option for smaller parties and social clubs.

The Pavilion & Basement

A popular “hybrid” choice that allows for indoor-outdoor flow—perfect for summer celebrations and family reunions.

Catering at The Knights Home

To ensure a high-quality experience for your guests, our catering guidelines are based on your guest count.

We provide in-house catering for events over 100 guests to ensure your meal is seamless and professional. No outside catering companies are permitted for large events.

For Events under 100 guests you have the flexibility to provide your own food (potluck or home-prepared). Please note that while you may bring your own food, we do not allow outside professional catering companies for these smaller groups.

Our Signature Southern Feast

A timeless menu served buffet-style with the warmth and hospitality the Knights are known for. Our classic spread features comfort food favorites prepared to perfection. Plate/dinnerware provided.

Professional Bar Service

To ensure your celebration runs smoothly from the first toast to the final dance, we provide dedicated, in-house bar service for all events. Every rental includes three professional bartenders who are committed to providing fast, friendly, and responsible service for your guests. By handling all beverage service through our licensed facility, we take the guesswork out of logistics, allowing you to relax and enjoy the party while we keep the refreshments flowing.

Golden Fried Chicken: Hand-breaded and fried to a crisp, savory finish.
Honey-Glazed Ham: Tender, slow-cooked ham with a sweet and savory glaze.
Slow-Roasted Beef: Savory, melt-in-your-mouth beef roasted in its own juices.

Smoked Pork Chops: Slow-smoked to a tender, juicy finish with a deep, savory wood-fired flavor.

Traditional Sides*

Creamy Whipped Potatoes: Served with our signature rich pan gravy.
Southern-Style Dressing: A flavorful, herb-seasoned classic.
Garden Green Beans: Tender beans seasoned with a hint of smoky flavor.
Buttered Sweet Corn: Crisp, golden kernels tossed in real butter.
House-Made Slaw: A refreshing & crisp accompaniment.
Dinner Rolls: Dinner rolls served with butter.

About the Knights

Heart, Heritage, and Service

The St. Wendel Knights of St. John #282 is a Catholic non-profit organization dedicated to the betterment of our community through faith and service. The Knights Home serves as our “home base”—the hub where we gather for meetings and plan our charitable outreach.

When you rent our facility, you are directly supporting our mission of “manpower and mission.” We regularly donate to vital local and national charities, including Marian Education Outreach, Habitat for Humanity, Ronald McDonald House, and St. Jude Research Hospital, as well as local high school after-proms and youth sports. We take pride in donating thousands of hours each year to help the elderly and homebound, ensuring that our impact is felt far beyond the walls of our hall.
